Adult Literacy and High School Diploma Teacher Career
Adult Literacy and High School Diploma teachers educate students of all ages in remedial education classes, in preparation for the GED exam, or learning English as a Second Language. Teachers focus on helping students develop their skills in reading, writing, and speaking English, as well as assisting students in earning their high school diploma.
Typically, adult literacy teachers work in a classroom setting. These placements can be either at a community college, public school, or other community-based location. There are both full-time and part-time positions available, and a teacher may expect to work at times when adults can attend classes, such as in the mornings, evenings, or some weekends.
